Well, seems like there are some wrong pieces of information in this article.

    1. The 3DS doesn’t have an optical drive. Optical disc drives are drives that use a laser to read/write information from/to an optical disc. What the 3DS does use is a cartridge with flash memory. Flash memory allows the data to be read much faster than from an optical disc, thus allowing playing without or with very short loading times. But the statement that the Wii 2 (BTW, this name isn’t the official name for the console) might use the same kind of memory as the 3DS could be true. Nintendo consoles have been using cartridges for a very long time; They switched to optical discs in the last gen (GameCube) because of countless third-party developers criticizing them for being old-fashioned – many companies thought that optical discs would be the technology of the future. But the new cartridges used in the 3DS are rumoured to have a capacity of around 8GB – that’s almost the capacity of a Xbox360 dual layered disc (around 8.7 GB). This means that cartridges not only have a similar capacity as optical discs, they also are considerably faster. Also, Blu-ray is Sony’s invention, and Nintendo never uses the invention of an opponent. Because of this I believe that Nintendo might use cartridges for their next console.

    2. Well, of course there are rumours that the Wii 2 will be announced at the E3 2011. There were rumours that it would be announced at the GDC 2011 as well. And last year, there were rumours about it being announced at the E3 2010. Even before that, some people thought it would be announced at the E3 2009. I agree with you in one point: “We will have to wait for the event to find out.”

    3. “Nintendo has just confirmed the Wii Successor” … Sorry, but after I read this I already knew that I would have to spent a lot of time to correct your article. Nintendo already confirmed the Wii successor YEARS AGO! And they also said that they won’t release a new console if it just has a HD upgrade. Furthermore, Iwata-san recently said that they will release it “when game developers run out of inventive ideas”. That could be this year, or next year, or never. But stating that they just confirmed the Wii successor, …, well, this statement is not really up-to-date.

    4. The specs have definitely not been confirmed yet nor are they likely to be as rumoured. Remember one thing: NEVER try to predict Nintendo’s moves. They always will do something nobody has ever thought of. All predictions for the 3DS have been wrong (like it having a Pica GPU). Just enjoy the result as it for sure will be fascinating.

One last sentence: The Metroid-Wii in the picture looks amazing <3

if the Wii2 (crap fake name, btw) was confirmed, why would it need unveiling?

Blu-Ray is Sony, and they would never let Nintendo use it.

if the specs were leaked as you say above, then why is it said that the specs are RUMORED? a leaked source is a reliable source from the inside of the company, not from a fan-boy’s dreams!

a projector wouldn’t make it more interactive! it would just make the image bigger! idiot…

also, a projector would never come bundled with the console. maybe a future add-on, but never with the console.

if you are telling the truth…

then provide us with an image, or the page where Nintendo have confirmed this “Wii2″.

and you state nowhere in this article the source of your “information”. you say Nintendo confirmed it, but when, and where?

then who leaked the info, and don’t give me any “protecting the source” crap, if he blabbed he should be fired anyway

until you answer all of these with plausible answers and proof, then I will put this in the “Internet Bullshit” pile.
