Apple iPhone 5 and iPad 2 NOT Delayed!
Earlier this week we read articles saying that Apple will be delaying the announcement and the eventual release of both the iPhone 5 and iPad 2. The reports about the next-generation iPad 2 and iPhone 5 delay was first posted by Bloomberg and Reuters after a supposed-to-be supplier of Apple from Asia suggested that production bottlenecks at Foxconn will push the iPad 2 from an April release date to June and the iPhone 5 will be bumped from its annual refresh cycle in June to September.
I guess that source from Asia was wrong because Apple will do the unveiling of the iPad 2 next week, March 2 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The photo below released by Apple with the invites to the event explains it all. Notice the ’2′, iPad 2 anyone? .. and the small teaser peel on the upper right corner revealing an iPad? “Come see what 2011 will be the year of”, the picture says.. will it still be the year of the iPad? or will the Android Tablets rule the world this year? We’ll get an idea come March 2 when Apple announces the iPad 2.

As for the iPhone 5 delay rumors, this notion has been answered by AppleInsider saying that a person “familiar with the matter” said the delay reports are “not true” and that Apple will push through with the announcement and release date as planned. The iPhone will get another refresh this year with the iPhone 5 in June, same month last year for the iPhone 4.
Note: Apple hasn’t made any public announcement regarding a release of an iPhone 5 this year but tech insiders, analysts and bloggers strongly believe that the said devices is penned for a 2011 release thus fueling the rumors. That and Apple always does a refresh of the iPhone annualy. We may still be wrong though so please take the information above with a grain of salt. Thank you and good day!
